The staff at Macdonald’s all have technical backgrounds and certificates in home health care services.

Since 1926, Macdonald’s Prescriptions has been serving the Lower Mainland’s health needs with the finest in pharmacy services. Macdonald’s Prescriptions continues to grow their Home Health Care division because of the vision and strong roots that were planted more than 85 years ago by two brothers, Austin and Vans Macdonald. Throughout the years, we have developed and maintained a variety of outstanding services to meet the needs of patients and health care professionals.

The entire Macdonald’s Home Health Care Staff pride themselves in the tradition of the knowledge and experience which they have acquired over the years. Rehab Staff

Our Rehab department deals with the sales, service, repair and rental of home medical equipment. We specialize in high end mobility equipment, custom seating, beds, lifting equipment, accessibility, and bathroom safety.

Patrick Zuccaro

Ninja - Co-Founder

Patrick came to Macdonald’s Home Health Care with a sales background in the pharmaceutical industry where he sold chemicals to compounding pharmacies. Patrick started at Macdonald’s Home Health Care as a sales rep in August of 2009 and since then has developed the medical equipment side of the business to a level that is well known throughout the city for their prompt service and stellar knowledge. Patrick enjoys traveling to exotic places with his wife and is also an avid mountain biker. You can usually find him at the Whistler Bike Park, North Shore Mountains or near his family cabin on the Sunshine Coast.

Evan Kellett

Not a Ninja - Co-Founder

Evan graduated from Simon Fraser University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Kinesiology in 2005. He also holds certificates in Active Health and Nutrition. He has been working at Macdonald’s Home Health Care as a Rehab Consultant since 2008 and has been instrumental in the success of the Rehab Department. Evan currently holds a position on the BC Home Medical Equipment Dealers Association Board of Directors.

In his spare time, Evan enjoys outdoor activities with his wife, daughter, and dog. He is also very involved with youth athletics as a volleyball coach at a local high school and helps to run one of the biggest girls volleyball clubs in BC.

Dave Robens

VP - Business Evolution

Dave came to Macdonald’s when asked by Patrick and Evan to help develop a culture to ensure that Macdonald’s is the best home health company to work for in the industry. Dave has been practicing as an occupational therapist for the last eight years with a focus on geriatrics. More recently, Dave has ventured into the mental health field and developed a group coaching program to help people realize their potential and understand their role in their own psychological well being. These skills alongside a ritual of wearing tight pants makes Dave a perfect match for Macdonald’s Home Health Care. Outside of work Dave runs personal development groups, continues to practice OT with seniors, loves his wife, Tara, and their two amazing children, Molly & Zev. He enjoys soccer, travel, camping, and minimizing screen time for all who are willing to engage with the outside world.

Heather Thornburn

Office Coordinator - Multi Tasker

Heather joined Macdonald’s Home Health Care in October 2009, trading the slightly slower pace of Victoria for the fast-paced, vibrant life of Vancouver, and she has fully embraced life here on the mainland. With over 12 years of experience in the Home Health Care industry, she has now taken on the role of Coordinator/CSR at our West 6th location, and is enjoying sinking her teeth into this opportunity.


Working behind the scenes handling purchasing, billing, as well as customer service, she keeps things running smoothly and does her best to keep everything and everyone on-track. Heather does this – and more – while making sure to keep a smile on hers and everyone else’s faces, and making it her personal mission to make at least one person laugh every day.

Eduardo Jimenez

Lead Technician

Eduardo started at Macdonald’s Home Health Care in 2012 as a repair and mobility technician. He came to us with a degree in electonics engineering which has been a huge asset and has transferred well to his work with powered mobility devices. Eduardo has two beautiful children, Valeria and Angel.

On weekends you can find him spending time with his kids, driving to Lilloet to visit his family, drinking Coronas with his sombrero on, eating tacos and playing Halo.

Ross Brydges

Seating and Mobility Sales

Ross Brydges, splits his time between Vancouver and the Sunshine Coast. He brings a wealth of experience to our team:

  • Over 8 years of industry experience
  • A strong technical background with previous experience in the custom motorcycle world
  • Knowledgeable with all mobility and seating equipment, as well as lift and lift installs (ceiling mounted, stairlift, and platform)
  • Research and development experience with EMP mattresses
  • Volunteer experience at Mason Bluff Farms as a Special Needs Therapy horseback riding assistant

In his spare time Ross enjoys hiking and camping in our local mountains, kiteboarding, soccer, and long chopper rides. Best of all…… Ross is a Sunshine Coast resident!

Kristy Strocher

Seating and Mobility Training Facilitator

Kristy graduated from the University of British Columbia with a Bachelor’s Degree in Kinesiology in 2001.  After graduation, she was an exercise rehabilitation therapist working primarily with elderly clients and clients with traumatic brain injuries.  Kristy is now in her 10th year as a mobility equipment specialist and is widely known in the industry as the, “Jill of all trades”.   Her top priority is to ensure her clients, their families, caregivers and health care professionals work together to find the most appropriate equipment for each person’s individual needs.  She is a natural team leader and has a passion for training and education which she shares with everyone involved in the prescription, fitting, demonstration and delivery of equipment.  Outside of work, Kristy enjoys creating mystery events, riding her motorcycle, composing music, entertaining friends with her love of culinary adventures, and a day is not complete without doting over her cat, Georgia.

Vincent Menendez

Seating and Mobility Sales Assistant

Vincent was born in Ouganda in the middle of the 19th century. He moved to Canada from France, has lived in Belgium for 5 years, and loves to travel.  He has a degree in Occupational Therapy which he received in 2005 in Belgium. Prior to joining the team at Macdonald’s, he worked in France and specialized with people with disabilities and environmental controls.

In Vincent’s spare time he can be found riding his bike around the seawall, playing badminton, and having a silly expression on his face in every picture of him. He has travelled to every country that boarders France, met his Korean girlfriend in India and now lives in Vancouver.

Carlo Fontana

Installer AKA Italian Stallion

Carlo AKA the Italian Stallion has been working with us for 10 years and is the backbone of our department. He always has a smile on his face and has an extremely strong work ethic – hence the nickname. Carlo grew up in Vancouver and we are extremely happy to have had him working with us for so long.

Carlo enjoys being Italian, eating Italian food, and watching the Vancouver Canucks.

Dan Walters

Technician Extraordinaire

Dan joined our team early 2016 and we are happy to have him. He has 13 years experience as a technician in the industry and his wealth of knowledge is a huge asset to our team. Dan can be found hiking around lakes and playing loud rock and roll music in his spare time.

Sir Frankie Brown Eyes the 1st

Chief Barketing Officer

As the chief barketing officer, Frankie (for short), focuses most of his time on barking at the most inappropriate of times. Usually this takes place when Evan is on a very important phone call or the owner, Vince, is in an important meeting. This is Frankie’s first job and at just 10 months old he is doing well within his job description. Between barking and extra long naps he lacks the time it takes to become a more productive employee but he’s extremely cute so we are going to keep him around.

Rahim Lakhani - Home2stay

Lift & Accessibility Specialist

Rahim comes to our team with over 14 years of experience in the rehab industry. Rahim takes pride in helping clients access more of their homes. Rahim is certified in stair lift and track lift installs, elevating products, and making funny jokes.

Nels Breutigam - Home2stay

Lift & Accessibility Consultant

Nels comes to our team with a degree in audio engineering. He is extremely technical and is certified in track lift and stair lift installations, and home modifications. Since Nels has joined our team we have been able to expand our installation capabilities and offer even more great products to our clients.

Aaron Shirley - Home2stay

Lift & Accessibility Technician

Aaron Shirley is one of our installers and has been working with us since 2013. As part of our installation team, Aaron excels in quick and timely service, and since he has joined our team we have been able to expand our home modification business.

Retail Staff

746 West Broadway

Our retail department deals with the sales of retail home medical equipment. They specialize in compression garments, mastectomy, lymphadema treatment, and have a variety of ambulatory aids, bathroom equipment, bracing and ostomy supplies.

Wendy Pillay

HHC - Retail Manager

Graduated from University of Northern British Columbia with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Psychology. She is a co-manager of the Home Health Care Department in the Fairmont Medical Building. She joined the Macdonald’s Prescriptions Team in 2001 and enjoys the diversity of her job and all the different people she meets on a daily basis. Wendy is a Certified Expert Compression Garment Fitter and a Mastectomy Fitter.

She is happily married and enjoys the challenges of raising 3 children. She enjoys travelling whenever possible and really likes a great cup of coffee.
