DESIGN
Ridiculously light, 32 lbs. carbon design.
Carbon fibre. Light, but incredibly strong. In fact, some of the lightest things on Earth are made of it, including the Q50 R Carbon – one of the world’s lightest carbon folding power wheelchairs. Completely alluring. Completely arresting. And weighing just 32 lbs., its shock value is more than skin deep. The carbon frame can naturally flex over uneven surfaces, providing unique shock-absorbing characteristics to deliver one of the smoothest, most efficient rides around.
Increased maximum user weight of 300 lbs.
At just 32 lbs., the Q50 R Carbon weighs less than other carbon folding power wheelchairs, but thanks to its incredibly strong carbon fibre design, it can also support a larger user weight of up to 300 lbs.
Make yourself comfortable
The ultra-lightweight foam cushion and backrest upholstery doesn’t just keep you comfortable. It also has a breathable cover that allows body heat to pass through, keeping you cool and dry on those longer trips.
Turning radius of 31.5″
Unlike a mobility scooter, the Q50 R Carbon has a small 31.5″ turning radius, making it ideal for indoor environments. Effortlessly turn in narrow hallways, kitchens, and other restricted spaces without the need for complicated manoeuvres.
TRANSPORTATION
Travels in spaces (and to places) other power wheelchairs can’t.
Vacation without a bulky power wheelchair? The Q50 R Carbon folds so ridiculously compact when folded (14.5″ length x 22.5″ width x 30″ height), it can fit just about anywhere! Take the train, hop on the bus, or store away in the trunk of the smallest car – it’s perfect for exploring places, near or far. Ridiculously light, it’s also a breeze to lift in and out, too.
Simply effortless folding
There’s no troublesome mechanisms – just flip up the clip at the back, fold the footplate, and push the backrest downwards to fold the Q50 R Carbon straight to the floor. You don’t even need to remove the battery. For extra security, the (standard) transport strap ensures your Q50 R Carbon is kept tightly folded while lifting.
Stores in the smallest of spaces!
When folded, the Q50 R Carbon is so compact, it can be easily stored away on the porch, underneath the stairs, or in the trunk of the car. Thanks to its rear anti-tips, it’s easily moveable when standing upright, too.
Approved for air travel*
Are you planning to travel internationally? You can take the Q50 R Carbon with you since its Lithium-Ion battery is approved by IATA (International Air Transport Association) for transportation on aircraft.
* Individual airlines have different requirements relative to transport of products with Li-Ion batteries. Prior to arranging any air travel with the wheelchair, please confirm with your airline or carrier that they accept battery-powered vehicles under UN classification: UN3171. Please refer to the owner’s manual for further details.
Light on weight, heavy on reliability.
For over 40 years, we’ve been working alongside world-class manufacturers to deliver solidly built power wheelchairs that have the very best driving performance, motors, range, and reliability that others just can’t match. That’s why the Q50 R Carbon’s 250W high efficiency brushless motors provide the power and reliability you need from your power wheelchair (including climbing obstacles of up to 1.5″). Highly optimized, they’ll also deliver the very best range from your batteries, too.
POWER OPTIONS
Go further with an extended range of 15 miles.
Prefer to leave the car at home? Enjoy a range of up to 7.5 miles with the Q50 R Carbon’s 10Ah lithium-ion battery. If you’re looking to go further, its additional battery slot allows you to bring an (optional) second battery along for the ride, doubling your range to up to 15 miles!
Brake light
Be seen at night with this super bright brake light for greater visibility and awareness to others around you.
nVR2 BLDC Brushless DC Motor Controller
Intuitive to use, the established and reliable nVR2 BLDC brushless motor controller by the world-leading Curtiss-Wright Corporation responds precisely to your commands and keeps track of remaining battery life, too. Plus, because you don’t need to remove the battery when folded, the Q50 R Carbon can be conveniently charged via the controller’s charging socket.
Off-chair battery charging
You don’t need to have your battery connected to your Q50 R Carbon to charge it. Just pop the battery out and charge it using the charging port on the side.
